Richard Auf der Maur has been active in the finance and real estate industries for nearly 30 years and has served as President of the Swiss Property Owners Association since 2017. During his tenure, the association’s membership has grown to over 40,000, with a target of 100,000 members as his next major goal. Richard began his career in 1996 as a banker and worked as an investment advisor at a Swiss private bank in Bern until 2001. He has never regretted his relatively early decision to become self-employed and now holds numerous operational and strategic roles in various real estate and financial companies both domestically and internationally.
Despite his busy schedule, Richard dedicates at least two hours daily to reading global news and professional literature. He has a broad academic background, including certifications as a Federal Certified Financial and Investment Expert, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Real Estate Management, and a CAS in Real Estate Valuation. His expertise spans finance, real estate, taxation, and fiduciary matters.
Richard lives with his family in Zurich’s Seefeld district and travels almost weekly across Switzerland by train as part of his work as a financial and real estate expert. He keeps aging at bay with tennis, golf, and fitness.
