Whereas in the past, the customer’s bank was the main provider of financing, today customers often get several offers and let the competition play its part. However, if a customer asks the banks independently, the process is very time-consuming. In each case, you have to submit all the documents and often meet in person. As a result, customers often only ask one or two banks for a comparison or even forgo them altogether. This is negligent and quickly costs the customer several thousand francs.

Mortgage brokerage offers an alternative. The customer submits his documents once to the broker. The SARON mortgage is the successor of the LIBOR mortgage, since the Libor reference rate (London Interbank Offered Rate) has been discontinued as of the end of 2021. The SARON (Swiss Average Rate Overnight) is calculated and published by the SNB and SIX based on actual transactions executed. As a result, the Saron is much more transparent than the Libor and can be tracked at any time.
